A first-generation Nigerian-American teenager goes to extraordinary lengths to become the fastest runner in her school, believing speed is the key to finally belonging. Blending coming-of -age storytelling with magical realism, the journey ultimately becomes about identity, grief and discovering that belonging cannot be won.
Untitled Stand-Up Hour (In Development)
A new hour of stand-up exploring identity, faith, family, and belonging. Many of the ideas that eventually became Killing Janet were first discovered behind a microphone, making this project both a standalone comedy hour and an ongoing companion to the theatrical work.
